Previously, we shared you the fix regarding the problem of audio not working after upgrading to which is covered under this link: Today, in this article, we’re going to discuss yet another issue related to audio on Windows 10. Actually, few days back we faced a strange problem where we don’t have any output sound from the device.
We checked the sound drivers and they were working fine. Also this was a dual boot installation, so when we booted to parallel operating system ( in this case) installed on same device, audio was working fine. The issue was happening only with Windows 10. We then checked Windows Audio service in Services snap-in and the services was not running. Upon starting this service, this warning or error appeared. Windows could not start the Windows Audio service on Local Computer. Error 1740: The endpoint is a duplicate.
Since this is purely a service related issue, you should run command in administrative Command Prompt to fix it initially. The System File Checker should fix, if there exists any corrupted file related to audio service. In case, if you still have the same issue, you can try out these fixes and see if they helps you: FIX: Windows Could Not Start The Windows Audio Service On Local Computer In Windows 10 FIX 1 – Using Registry Editor. In the left pane of Registry Editor, navigate to following registry key: HKEYLOCALMACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services AudioEndpointBuilder Parameters 3. Highlight Parameters key and in the right pane of it, look for the Data against ServiceDll expandable registry string ( REGEXPANDSZ).
Regarding the 'The Audio service is not running' issue, please first try start the Windows Audio service by the steps below: 1. Click the Start Button, type 'services.msc' (without quotation marks) in the Search Bar and press Enter to start Services. In the right pane, please check whether the Windows Audio service is started.
Since you’re facing this issue, the Data corresponding here should be%SystemRoot% System32 Audiosrv.dll. Double click on the the string to modify its Value data. In the Edit String box, set the Value data to%SystemRoot% System32 AudioEndpointBuilder.dll and click OK. Close the Registry Editor window and reboot the machine. After a restart, problem should no longer persist. FIX 2 – By Merging Audiosrv Registry From Another Machine We have observed that this issue can also be resolved by merging the Audiosrv registry configuration from another machine on which audio is working fine.
For this, you have export Audiosrv registry key (located at HKEYLOCALMACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services Audiosrv) into a registry file with.reg extension. Please note that the system from which you’re exporting. Reg file should have same architecture and equivalent or higher operating system edition as compared to issued/target/original machine. Fox example, here I am providing Audiosrv registry file from Windows 10, 32-bit edition. So if you’re having issue on equivalent OS or on 32-bit of Windows 7/8/8.1, you can merge this registry file to solve the issue.
I suddenly lost my audio out of nowhere about 2 weeks ago and haven't been able to fix this problem I have updated my audio drivers, tried updating BIOS, and have tried a dozen different fixes, all that have not worked, I even tried System restore several times going to earlier and earlier restoration dates each time and that has also not worked audio also does not work through external speakers or headphones I have not installed any new hardware or updated my Operating System, I also have not recently installed any new programs nor updated any of them unless other wise stated above. When I hover over the speaker icon ' No Audio Output device is installed' pops up, this is impossible because I'm on a notebook pc which has built in speakers that have always worked perfectly fine my laptop is an HP Pavillion dv9000 series ( HP Pavillion dv9730us Entertainment Notebook PC to be specific), I am running on Windows Vista 32-bit can somone please help me finally get this fixed? The only steps that I see you have done is updating drivers, updating BIOS, and several system restores. In the future, it may be best to list all steps taken to avoid repeating steps. However, it is entirely possible that something has failed in the sound card resulting in an error stating no audio output device is installed. Go to Start, search for device manager and open this result.
Expand the sound, video and game controllers category. Is the sound card listed? If so, open the properties and let me know what the status message is. If the category is missing, let me know. I have the same problem! So every time i have dnloaded a new version of IDT Audio i`ve made a system restor point if the audi device becomes deactive! My error in device manager is 'Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device.
A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)' So i can`t solve the problem! Plz someone hel us!!

Sorry my bad english, it`s not my main language! @Centeon, What is the exact model of your notebook? As a starting point, try the steps in this to try and isolate the issue.
Just to note, I don't find it very likely that the driver's signature is bad as I would see it more often. Digital signature enforcement of drivers can be disabled which will allow it to work, but this creates a different issue in that malware can masquerade as a driver and won't be restricted with digital signatures of drivers disabled. Have you scanned the system for malware using a legitimate anti-virus program? Even if real-time protection is enabled, I would recommend a full system scan. You can also try restoring the original factory driver for the sound card. Go to Start, search for recovery manager, and open the result. Select the option for drivers and software.
Select Next on the prompt. A list of drivers and software should be listed. Look for the sound card driver.
It could be labled as audio, sound, or IDT. Select next and follow the prompts to restore the original driver. Let me know what happens. I have tried the Fix it for me option a few times and because it has not helped me I went with the Let me fix it myself option. After trying to change Windows Firewall Service MpsSvc could not be configured to run under account name. NT AUTHORITY/LocalService on computer Local Computer. Service MpsSvc runs in a shared process.
If computer Local Computer is running Windows NT 4.0 or earlier, services which run in a shared process must run under the system account. Error 1057: The account name is invalid or does not exsist, or the password is invalid for the account name specified. (I also recived this same message after trying it with my account's username and password) after trying with username 'NT AUTHORITY¥LocalService' I recieved this message after clicking Apply: The account NT AUTHORITY LocalService has been granted the Log On As A Service right. And The new logon name will not take effect until you stop and restart the service. After clicking OK on both this last message the information in the This account box had changed to Local Service and the Password box had an unknown 15 character password typed in it I clicked OK, stopped and restarted the service and continued to do the same steps for Base Filtering Engine as instructed by the file after repeating the same steps as for the Windows Firewall changes for Base Filtering Engine I recived this message: The new logon name will not take effect until you stop and restart the service. And again the This account and Password boxes had different information than I had entered I clicked OK and stopped and restarted this service just like I did with the Windows Firewall service nothing happened again so I restarted my computer and my audio was still not working.
After this I decided to try the Fix it for me option again I downloaded and ran the file MicrosoftFixit50671.msi and again nothing happened.
